36 Hours in Breckenridge, Colo.
By MATTHEW PREUSCH
This former mining town, unlike its upscale Colorado neighbors, Vail and Aspen, still exudes a crunchy, laid-back vibe.

Charter Sports at BlueSky Breckenridge

Right next to Snowflake Lift!!
42 Snowflake Drive (970) 547-8508

Charter Sports is located in the BlueSky complex right next to the SnowFlake lift.  This is just about one long block from our condo providing the ultimate in convenience.  You can stop by to pick up your ski's on the way up to the condo the night before, or walk down the first thing in the morning.  Just leave your shoes in the store and hop on the lift.  Its easy to turn your ski's in as well - just ski down 4 O'clock to the road and you are there.  They offer a 30% discount if you order on line before you go, which is highly recommended.  If you forget, the manager has offered the same discount - just tell them you are a "guest of Tyra owner".

Lift Tickets:

Greater Than 7 Days Before Your Trip:

You can join the PEAKS program and purchase lift tickets directly from the Breckenridge Ski Resort (owned by Vail Resorts).  Click Here to go to the official resort site.   To get these rates, you must purchase 7 days prior to your trip.

Less Than 7 Days Before Your Trip:

If the above doesn't work for you, another savings option is to purchase from a grocery store on the Front Range before you head up to the ski area.   You can only buy from Front Range grocery stores (e.g. Denver) but not at stores in Breckenridge.   You can usually get discount lift tickets at Safeway, City Market or King Soopers.

If you are arriving via Denver Airport, one suggestion is to stop by King Soopers on 48th Avenue which is just outside the airport.  Take Pena Blvd to Exit 1B.

Nearby Activities

Below are some links of fun things to do.  We haven't tried all of them yet.  When we do or hear back from others, we'll post some comments.

Rafting in Colorado on a scenic whitewater raft trip is genuine Colorado adventure at its best !  Performance Tours is one of several rafting companies working out of Buena Vista providing tours on the Arkansas River.  Brown's Canyon is a challenging family trip while The Numbers is a whitewater adventure for adults.  We have also toured with River Runners.  Both offer coupons in Breck magazines.
